Building Soldiers
Developing disciples of Jesus Christ who are equipped, committed, and sent.
What Does "Building Soldiers" Mean?
At Crusade Free Will Baptist Church, "building soldiers" means developing spiritually strong, disciplined, compassionate, and committed disciples of Jesus Christ who are prepared to live out their faith in everyday life.
A soldier of Jesus Christ is equipped through the Word of God, strengthened through prayer, encouraged through fellowship, and committed to Christian service.
Our soldiers do not fight people. Our battle is spiritual, and our weapons are faith, prayer, the Word of God, love, truth, forgiveness, and service.
"Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus."
2 Timothy 2:3
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."
Ephesians 6:10–11

The Belt of Truth
Truth is the foundation of the soldier's identity. We stand firm in the truth of God's Word and the truth of who we are in Christ.
The Breastplate of Righteousness
Living righteously protects the heart. We pursue holy living not to earn salvation, but because we have been saved.
The Gospel of Peace
We are ready to carry the Gospel wherever God sends us — into our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, and communities.
The Shield of Faith
Faith extinguishes the enemy's attacks. We trust God's promises even when circumstances are difficult.
The Helmet of Salvation
Our minds are protected by the assurance of our salvation in Jesus Christ. We do not fight for victory — we fight from victory.
The Sword of the Spirit
The Word of God is our only offensive weapon. We study, memorize, and apply Scripture to every area of life.
Prayer
All of the armor is worn in the context of prayer. We pray at all times, in all circumstances, for all the saints.
